My background is working in the UK charity sector. I have considerable grant-making experience including managing programmes for national funders BBC Children in Need and Lloyds Bank Foundation. In 2015, I established Emma Beeston Consultancy to advise philanthropists and foundations on effective giving. I am a guest lecturer on CASS Business School’s Charity Masters Programme and co-creator and lecturer of the ‘Advising Donors’ module for University of Kent’s Masters in Philanthropic Giving.

I specialise in philanthropy in the UK and have a particular passion for the smaller organisations working with marginalised people and unpopular causes. Giving to these lesser known groups can often have greater impact.
