Based in Bristol, Emma has worked in the charity sector for over twenty years with experience in youth work, advice and mental health. For the past fourteen years she has worked in grant making at both a strategic and operational level - having managed programmes that award grants to individuals; introduced small grants schemes and managed portfolios of over £10m and grants from £500 to £150k.
Penny Brohn Cancer Care helps people with cancer to live well through individual support and self management courses. As a Trustee, I am a member of the funding and service governance sub-groups for this national charity.
BBC Children in Need
I was responsible for grant making, fundraising and strategic presence in the South West. I managed a grant portfolio worth £11 million and an annual grants allocation of £3.8 million all focused on improving the lives of disadvantaged children and young people. I managed 2 staff, 18 freelance assessors and 12 volunteer committee members.

I am the ambassador for the Foundation across the West of England. I manage the grant making portfolio: conducting outreach, assessments, and monitoring. I liaise with bank staff on their employee engagement activity.
